Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday said that the compensation against crop damage by animals will be increased in the state. He said the state officials concerned have been directed to revise the rate and implement the new one.
�As per the new rate, the compensation rate per hectare damage will be Rs. 20,000 to 40,000 from Rs. 10,000 -25,000. Moreover, compensation against damage of houses should be increased to 1 lakh 20 thousand. Seriously injured person should be given Rs. 100,000 and for minor injury, it should be done 15,000 from Rs. 10,000,� said the CM.
Summoning people for planting seedlings, the CM said that people desirous to plant trees should get application from panchayat secretariat which will be given promotion amount for this. Plants can be irrigated through sakhi mandals. Tree Friend Award should be given for good efforts in forestation, he said.
Forest Dept. Principal Sec Sukhdev Singh said that 29.50% area of Jharkhand is covered with forest. Against Rs. 407.31 cr budget in this FY, Rs. 154.94 has been approved and allotted. 339.25 lakh plants are supposed to be planted in the current FY. Natural regeneration of sericulture operation is implemented in 6700 hectare areas.
Saal forest are developed where root stock is available. For fossil parks, DPR of Rs. 1859.68 lakh has been made. A fish house has been developed in Birsa Munda Biological Park in 3300 sq meter with the expenditure of 3.64 cr.
Water Resources Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary, CS Raj Bala Verma, Additional CS Amit Khare, Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal and other people were present in the meeting.
