Jamshedpur, April: The 13th (Trayodashi) annual Jeen Bhavani Mahotsav got off to a colourful start this evening from the Sakchi Market Shiv Mandir. Organized by the Jeen Mata Pariwar Jamshedpur, four couples Pramod Agrawal and his spouse, Sushil Agrawal and spouse, Chauthmal Modi and spouse and Tulsi Khemka and spouse offered prayers at the Shiv Temple. Learned priests offered prayers to the 251 Nishans (flags) of the Deity before the huge procession was taken out from the Shiv Mandir through various lanes before proceeding on the Sitaramdera Road to Vijaynagar in Golmuri where the Jeen Mata Mandir is situated. The Nishans carried in the procession were offered at the feet of Jeen Bhawani.

Everybody did not have Nishans to carry but the devotees sang and danced in the procession with popular, local bhajan singer Mahavir Agrawal presented live devotional songs throughout the procession route. This added to the religious fervor of the devotees.
The two tallest Nishans carried the emblems of Hanumanji and Mataji respectively. Many carried placards propagating the importance of casting votes with each placard mentioning a caption to motivate each and every voter.
The entire route of the procession, various organizations had set up refreshment stalls with sherbet and fruits for the participating devotees.
Prior to the commencement of the procession, there was the traditional inauguration jointly by the Jeen Mata Parivar president Bajrang Lal Agrawal and founder member Shambhu Khanna by breaking a coconut. Guests present on the occasion included popular personalities Mohan Lal Agrawal, Om Prakash Ringasia, Shankar Lal Agrawal, Purushottam Bhautika, Naresh Agrawal, Ratan Bhautika and others. All the guests were welcomed with the presentation of the Mother�s dupatta.
The procession carrying Jeen Mata�s richly decorated chariot was marked by colourful cracker bursts and a band accompanying the bhajans by Mahavir Agrawal. The devotees shouted slogans glorifying Mother Jeen Bhawani.
When the procession reached Golmuri Shiv Mandir, the Temple committee and the Jeen Mata Pariwar members welcomed the procession of devotees. The devotees were provided snacks and refreshments there after the Nishans were placed at the feet of Jeen Mata. Natwar Singhania, Vinod Khanna, Raj Kumar Ringasia, Sunil Debuka, Mahesh Singhania, Sitaram Debuka, Gopal Agrawal, Pramod Khanna, Manish Khanna and Asish Khanna were present at the reception.
Popular artistes to present bhajans today: On the second day of the two day Mahotsav on Tuesday, April 2, Ma Bhawani�s Jeen Shakti Mangal Path will be performed from 3 pm by Sunil Snehi and Aradhana Shukla. The program of bhajans will commence from 8 pm and will be sung by famous singers from Kolkata Jai Shankar Chaudhary and Swati Agrawal. These events will be conducted in the Mata�s Darbar in the air conditioned hall of The Bengal Club in Sakchi.
The main attractions here will include Shri Jeen Mangal Path, the Mata�s decoration, offering of a 108 meter chunri, Divya Akhand Jyot, the Divine kitchen and traditional 56 items of food offerings to Jeen Mata. Meanwhile expert craftsmen from Kolkata are decorating Mata�s Darbar at The Bengal Club with colourful flowers.
