Colleges gearing up for NAAC team’s visit

Jamshedpur, March 8: Several colleges under the Kolhan University have been issued directives in view of the proposed tour of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team to Jamshedpur in May-June this year.

The NAAC team will visit colleges and asses the educational activities and infrastructure at the college. Apart from this the team will also interact with the alumni and students of various colleges. Several colleges in the city are organizing different seminars and other programs to keep themselves updated as the team could land ant time between May and June.

College authorities are planning to give a team a grand welcome and satisfy them with the facilities in the college. Several colleges have started whitewashing work while some have planned to set up an alumni association. University management is also showing keen interest and is providing necessary grant to the colleges.

If the NAAC team is satisfied after the inspection of the colleges they will receive funds worth lakhs of rupees from the University Grants Commission (UGC) every year.

Every college in the southern part of India is NAAC accredited, but not a single college under Kolhan University has achieved this benefit. DR. RPP Singh, vice-chancellor of Kolhan University, has appealed the college authorities and students to give their best and leave no stone unturned to entice the NAAC team.
