New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party has written an open letter to the Prime Minister demanding one crore rupees in compensation for the families of students who died by suicide following the paper leak crisis.
“We demand that your administration release a compensation amount of one crore rupees to all families who have suffered from a suicide due to the compounding crisis of paper leaks,” wrote CJP representative Abhijeet Dipke.

CJP will hold its second protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20 to intensify its campaign against alleged examination irregularities and the government’s failure to ensure accountability in the education system.
In the letter, Dipke highlighted that the families of these deceased youths now face a severe financial crisis. He explained that many parents had taken out massive educational loans to support their children’s dreams of a better future, only for systemic failures to cruelly shatter those aspirations. He added that the impending pressure of upcoming re-examinations is further intensifying this devastating trend among the youth.
Dipke also reiterated the party’s ongoing demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the alleged examination irregularities. “All that we students want is to see some accountability for the loss of lives,” he stated.
He further noted, “Holding leadership accountable is a vital step toward restoring the faith of millions of students and parents in our educational framework. If the government does not take swift and decisive action to address these systemic failures and replace the responsible leadership, it inadvertently signals that the administration accepts the status quo.”
The open letter follows days of continuous reports of student suicides, primarily involving NEET aspirants, from across the country. Allegations of widespread paper leaks forced the cancellation of the original NEET exam held on May 3. The subsequent rescheduling of the exam to June 21 has created an incredibly stressful environment for the candidates who must now retake the competitive test.
Before officials scrapped the initial test, more than 2.27 million students had appeared across 551 cities.
Now, as candidates brace for the re-examination and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probes the leak, tragic reports from Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Karnataka have brought the human cost of the controversy into sharp focus.
On Tuesday, a 23-year-old NEET aspirant died by suicide at her home in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, due to ‘dissatisfaction over excelling in her studies’. According to a police official, the student had shown no prior signs of depression or behavioral changes before taking the drastic step. The victim, a resident of Dehradun’s Chandrabani area, was actively preparing for the NEET re-test. Reports confirmed she had previously scored 96.7% in Class 12 and later became a college topper.
In another tragic incident on early Wednesday morning, a 17-year-old student preparing for the NEET re-test died after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of a residential building in Ahmedabad’s New Ranip area, according to local police.
