CNT Act to be amended: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that the state government was considering proposals to slack certain provisions of the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act to make transfer of land possible between tribal people of different police station areas in a given district.

He was speaking to scribes following a meeting of the Scheduled Tribe Advisory Council in the state Capital.

He said a report will be made available on the arrangements made by the state government to implement the Samata Judgment of the Apex Court in Jharkhand very soon following discussions.

He said necessary amendments would be made in the CNT Act to facilitate easy loans to Adivasi people.
