CMPDI’s CSR initiative to install 50 sanitary napkin vending machines in Jharkhand Schools

Ranchi, Nov 15: In a significant step towards promoting healthy menstrual hygiene practices, the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) headquarters, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, has initiated a partnership with the HLL Management Academy (HMA), Thiruvananthapuram. A Rs 52 lakh agreement has been signed to facilitate easy access and disposal of sanitary napkins for girl students in 50 government schools across Jharkhand.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized between RK Mahapatro, General Manager (HRD/CSR) of CMPDI, and Manoj Daya, Senior Manager at HLL Management Academy. Under this CSR initiative, 50 sanitary napkin vending machines and 50 incinerators will be strategically installed in 50 government schools in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The sanitary napkins will be provided to these schools for a duration of 8 months.

In addition to the installation of facilities, expert-led programs will be organized in these schools to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among girl students. This holistic approach aims to not only provide the necessary infrastructure for sanitary napkin disposal but also to educate and empower young girls with essential knowledge about menstrual health.

The ceremony marking the agreement was attended by members of the CSR team from CMPDI and officials from HLL Management Academy, marking a collaborative effort toward fostering a healthier and more informed community.
