CM to meet Railway Minister to increase frequency of Jallianwala Bagh Express

Announces Rs One lakh fund for beautification of Gurudwara

Jamshedpur, Aug. 12 : Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday announced that he will meet Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on August 14 to raise State�s demand to increase frequency of bi-weekly Tatanagar-Amritsar JallianwalaBagh Express train to five times a week.

Das was addressing a gathering at Buramamines Gurudwara. The Chief Minister participated in the programme organised to mark opening of the renovated hall of the gurudwara premises.

He said that he is aware of the demands of Sikhs of the city and has decided to meet the Railway authorities to increase the frequency of the train.

The Sikh community has been demanding either a new direct Express train from Tatanagar to Amritsar or increase in the frequency of the train from bi-weekly to atleast five times a week.

Over two lakhs Sikh population reside in Jamshedpur and adjoining Adityapur town, who experience acute problem in booking berths on the train that connects to our most sacred place (Amritsar) directly.

At present, 18103 JallianwalaBagh Express leaves Tatanagar for Amritsar junction on Monday and Wednesday and the down train (18104) arrives here on Thursday and Saturday every week. The Sikhs have been demanding increase in frequency of the train (at least four days a week).

Das also announced to provide Rs One lakh to Burmamines Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee from his personal MLA fund for the beautification of the main hall. � I never dream of becoming the Chief Minister it was only the love and faith of people that he was able to be appointed to the post,� said the Chief Minister, who is also the local MLA of Jamshedpur East.

He also said that he is aware of issues related to Minority Schools in the State. He has called a meeting with the Chief Secretary on August 23 to solve all the issues concerning Minority Schools.

Das also addressed a Janta Darbaar at his residence in Agrico. He met local people and heard their problems and also gave instructions to authorities to redress them.

Meanwhile, on Monday Chief Minister Raghubar Das will connect with Shravan devotees of Deogarh through video conferencing on the third holy Monday of the Shravan month in the city. Das, who arrived in the city on Saturday, will participate in the event at Surya Mandir in Sidghora. The event will be screened live on jhargaon.tv at 11 am.

Every year Chief Minister walks nearly 2 km in a kalashyatra from HariMandir premises in Baridih to Surya Mandir in Sidhgora. More than, 20,000 devotees, take part in the kalashyatra during the function.
