Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Saturday at Ramgarh.
On the occasion, the couple, along with their children, offered prayers at the Rajrappa temple and sought blessings.
Hemant Soren married Kalpana Soren on February 7, 2006. Since then, the couple has been regarded as an inspiring partnership, both personally and politically. From the early days of their marriage, Kalpana Soren has stood firmly by her husband, emerging not only as a supportive spouse but also as a strong pillar and guide in his political journey.

The bond between the two families dates back to a wedding ceremony in Odisha, where Dishom Guru Shibu Soren’s elder daughter was married. It was during that event that the Soren family first met Kalpana Soren. According to family accounts, she was accepted as a prospective daughter-in-law at first meeting, and the marriage was later finalised with mutual consent.
