Jamshedpur: Former Jamshedpur MP and state Congress president Dr Ajoy Kumar advised Chief Minister Raghubar Das to worry about his constituency.
“Congress workers have prepared themselves to pull down the bastion of BJP in Jamshedpur East constituency. The results will be visible in the 2019 elections. Congress and its UPA allies will ensure their victory on all the 14 LS seats in Jharkhand,” said the former MP after being welcomed by district Congress members and supporters on his arrival to the city on Sunday.
The district Congress leaders today celebrated the victory of party candidate Dhiraj Sahu in the Rajya Sabha elections with the state Congress chief. While beating drums and burning firecrackers, the party workers accorded a warm welcome to the former Parliamentarian at his CH Area residence.
Speaking to media-persons, Dr Ajoy said winning all the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand for the UPA will be the priority for him. “One can see the huge public support tilting in the favour of Congress all over the country. Rajya Sabha election results in Jharkhand are just the beginning of this change. The voters will teach the BJP led dispensation a lesson in the assembly elections in Jharkhand,” he said.
Kumar said the party leaders have complained against Chief Minister Raghubar Das and other BJP leaders for trying to influence the election results in connivance with Election Commission officials. “BJP does not believe in working in the larger interest of the country and its people, but it rather works for personal gains. If the Election Commission officials start getting influenced, our country would start witnessing Somalia-like situation,” he said.
