Ranchi, May 5: Reviewing Higher and Technical Education Department, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that institutions which have signed MoU should start session at the earliest.
“If college building is under construction, it should be completed fast. Seats in Raksha Shakti University should be increased and bus services in women colleges should be started. Chinese, German and Japanese courses should be started. He said that the govt. focuses on technical education,” said the CM.
Das said that courses should be prepared as per the needs of industries and special courses should be run for personality development of children. 24 mega skill centers to be opened in the state will be called Pt. Dindayal Upadhyay kaushal Kendra. A skill development fortnight should be celebrated to connect students with skill development.
Department Secretary Ajay Kumar said that 98 thousand students are targeted to be skilled in this year. He told the CM that foundation stone for new building of Ranchi University and Nilamber Pitamber University will be laid by 15th August. 14 of the multipurpose buildings have been tendered.
Kumar further said that Wi-Fi will be provided in RU and VBU by 15th August. Students will fill online form on a common platform. He said that there are 18 engineering colleges in the state.
Construction of women engineering college in Gola and engineering college in Koderma is going on. Proposal to start an engineering college in Palamu has been approved. In the next 3 years, 8 engineering colleges will create 2400 seats by 2021-22. Out of the approved 20 new polytechnic institutes, five will start working this year. 6000 seats are being increased in existing colleges, he said.
Education Minister Neera Yadav, CS Raj Bala Verma, Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal and other officers were present in the meeting.
