Ranchi, March 14: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday directed state officials to complete distribution of LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to 15 lakh beneficiaries by April this year.
Raghubar Das was reviewing the progress made in LPG connection distribution among the beneficiaries of the state at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) auditorium.
In Jharkhand, about 15 lakh below poverty line (BPL) families still need to be provided the free LPG connection under the scheme. The beneficiaries belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward communities and others.
The Chief Minister gave a road map to officials to expedite the distribution of the gas connections.
“The 20-point programme Vice Chairperson at the state-level should review the district level 20-point programme every 15 days. Those who indulge in corrupt practices in poor people’s scheme will face consequences,” said the Chief Minister while reviewing the implementation of scheme.
In a review meeting of the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme organized under State 20 Point Program, the Chief Minister also said that the corruption done in schemes for poor will not be spared.
Those who do not work will be discharged. He directed the Food Supply Department that the list of beneficiaries prepared by the department would be made available to all 20-point program divisional vice-presidents within the next three days through the District Supply Officer.
While congratulating 20 Point team of Palamu for achieving 74 per cent target, the Chief Minister said that all the districts should fulfill the target of Ujjwala scheme by working in accordance with this.
The Chief Minister said that all the gas dealers will work in co-ordination with the 20-point program division vice-chairman. There should not be any complaint of breakdown of synergies from anywhere. The Chief Minister said that deliver LPG connection and distribute stoves by putting camps.
District administration should ensure bringing beneficiaries to the camps. There should be no complaint of direct distribution from anywhere in the entire state. Action is being taken by gas companies for 312 new LPG dealers. The Chief Minister gave directive to the State Representatives of gas companies to make sure to get instant gas connections through existing dealers.
The Chief Minister also said that the work of providing free LPG connection to all the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Vanadhikar Patta is being done.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the scheme on October 2, 2015 in Dumka, Jharkhand with the aim to bring happiness on the face of women. The Chief Minister said that with support and devotion, this goal can be completed.
Rakesh Prasad, 20 Point program Vice President of the State said that this goal can be met by decentralization and social service. Development Commissioner Amit Khare said that the Food Supply Department has made available village wise data which will make it easier to complete the goal. The Food Supply Secretary briefly told about the implementation of the scheme. Welcoming everyone, Planning and Finance Secretary Satendra Singh said that results can be achieved only through dedicated work in the form of mission. In the open review meeting held in front of the media, all the districts, state 20 Point program Deputy Vice President, Block Vice President and all the personnel associated were present.
