Corruption and extremism on R-Day
Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that the state government was working hard to rid Jharkhand from the problems of lawlessness, hunger, corruption, extremism and terrorism.
He was speaking during the state government�s official Republic Day celebration at Morabadi ground.
In his address, the CM said that the state government had completed 43,000 projects having a total worth of Rs 600 crore and also created 2.83 crore human days (days of work created for employment) under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
More than 28,000 youths of rural areas were made self-employed through various government schemes, the CM said.
Soren further said that the state government had made available houses to as many as 36,000 homeless people.
He said the government had given approval to the project for widening and strengthening roads having a total length of 1000 kilometre at a cost of Rs 2000 crore.
�We have regularized the services of around 200 doctors and also appointed 30 drug inspectors in the state.
The proposal regarding the regularization of services of around 1300 paramedical staff has been approved. We have also started making power supply to more than 16,000
villages in the state,� said the CM.
The CM said the government had put the state on the path to progress by taking numerous initiatives towards modernization of various government departments and starting e-governance facility in the state.
He said 30 prisoners were being freed on R-Day while 4300 more prisoners will be freed on account of R-Day.
