Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das directed East Singhbhum district administration officials to prepare the list of areas of Jamshedpur falling under municipal corporation and industrial township. He said the administration should consult Tata Steel officials in listing the areas. The list should be prepared after seeking suggestions from the people, he said.
The CM said fees for various basic civic amenities would be collected in areas falling under industrial township on the lines of municipal corporations. The tariff for water and electricity supply should be collected at the rates fixed by a regulatory authority. He was speaking at a meeting held to discuss the formation of an industrial township in Jamshedpur. The final decision in this regard would be taken by the state government, said the CM.
Das directed the state officials concerned to discuss the matter and submit the proposal to the state government. East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and Tata Steel officials assured the CM of submitting the proposal to the department concerned as soon as possible.
Among others present at the meeting included state minister CP Singh, Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathy, Additional Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Revenue Secretary KK Sone and Tata Steel VP (Corporate Services) Sunil Bhaskaran.
