Jamshedpur, March 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday evening inaugurated the renovated Bengal Club, Sakchi in presence of Ashish Mathur, Jusco managing director, Anand Sen, vice-president, Tata Steel, Tapas Mitra, president, Bengal Club and other prominent people of the city.
The club, established in 1923 and known for hosting musical legends like Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar will once again host the musical events along with active participation of the community. The ground-breaking ceremony was done on August 15 , 2015.
The renovation cost of the Club stood at more than 1.2 crore. The kiosks and vendors outside the club have been removed which gives it a beautiful look.
