Jamshedpur, October 4: Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone for a four-lane bridge over the Swarnarekha River, connecting Bhuinyadih Litti Chowk to Bhilaipahari on NH 33. The bridge, costing Rs 77.77 crore, is set to be completed by April 2026. The project will commence within three days, with construction handled by Satish Prasad Company from Ranchi.

A ceremony was held at Litti Chowk, with Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy also present. Of the total cost, Rs 44 crore will be allocated for bridge construction and Rs 33 crore for land acquisition. Tata Steel will provide 80% of the land for the approach road, while the government will contribute the remaining 20%.

The bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion in Mango by providing an alternative route for vehicles traveling between Ghatshila and Jamshedpur.

Bridge connecting Litti Chowk and NH 33 to ease traffic congestion in Mango

Jamshedpur, October 4:  The long-awaited construction of a bridge and approach road connecting Litti Chowk to NH 33 is set to provide significant relief to residents of the city, particularly in the Mango area, by alleviating chronic traffic congestion.

Once completed, the new route is expected to increase traffic flow. However, this will likely put additional pressure on Litti Chowk. To address this, Tata Steel and the district administration will have to start planning traffic management strategies to ensure smooth movement by the time the bridge is completed.

The foundation for the bridge project was laid after persistent efforts. A question was raised in the assembly on March 21, 2022, and again on December 20, 2022, though no satisfactory response was received from the government at the time. Despite this, continuous follow-up discussions with departmental officials and engineers helped bring the project to fruition.

“I am happy to see the construction finally starting, as it will be a great relief to the people of the area,” said the local representative, who championed the initiative.

Saryu Roy to inaugurate development projects today

Jamshedpur, October 4: Jamshedpur East MLA, Saryu Roy, will inaugurate 30 development projects worth over ₹5.62 crore under the Urban Development project. The collective foundation stone-laying ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Son Mandap in the Sidgora Town Hall complex.
