CM invites Marwari community to manage State run hospitals Mountaineer Padmashri Premlata Agrawal felicitated

Jamshedpur, Sept. 3: CM RaghubarDas on Sunday invited Marwari community to manage some state run hospitals for better management. He was addressing the sixth Jharkhand State Marwari Conference that concluded at the Michael John auditorium

Hailing several outfits of the community involved in social work, the Chief Minister said there are two hospitalsone upcoming in Dumka and the Sadar Hospital in Deoghar which can be managed by the community for better functioning.

Prior to this the members of the community had submitted a memorandum demanding a total space of four acres to build a charitable hospital and an educational institute.

“The Marwari community has set examples of social work in the society. The community is keen to build a hospital and a school but the government is willing to give you aalready set up building which we would want the community to manage keeping in mind at the organisations contribution in the field of social work.

The Sadar Hospital in Deoghar will have an OPD service by 2019. The government would want the community to come forward and help the government in developing the Kolhan region,” said Das.
He also added, ” The Marwari community has played a key role in the progress of the State.

We should focus on social work and spread its reach. At present eradicating malnutrition from children and mothers is the thrust area of the government. Society must join hands with the Government to support its programmes.

The Marwari community organised its state level convention for the first time in Jamshedpur that focussed on social work and spread reach of education and health.

Chief minister of Jharkhand, Raghubar Das was the chief guest on the closing day today. The others who also attended the ceremony was RajyaSabha member, Mahesh Poddar, the newly appointed president of the Jharkhand State Marwari Conference, NirmalKabra; industrialist NandlalRungta.

The organisation established in 1931 has 750 permanent members in the state.
The Chief Minister also felicitated mountaineer PadmashriPremlataAgrawal and released a Rajasthani magazine too.

He also flagged off an awareness van on ‘BetiBachaoBetiPadhao’ initiated by the Marwari Yuvamanch (Surbhi branch).

During the meeting discussions were made on the major issues of female foeticide, literacy, evils like dowry and role of youngsters in politics amongst the members of the society.

The organisation, which has expressed concern over declining social and moral values, has decided to launch a number of programmes aimed at social reforms. Participants underlined the need for higher education, interest in art and culture and increased political consciousness.
