Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today inaugurated the Madanpur Gharbhanga Power Grid Sub Station in Jama block, 11 kilometre away from Dumka.
He said all villages coming within a radius of one kilometer from the sub station will be given free electricity. He said a total of 15 villages will be benefitted from the announcement.
He said the sub station will lead to creation of opportunities for the industries in the area. He said many people will get employment.
He said the grid will help supply power to Dumka and the entire Santhal Paragana region. Around seven lakh people will get power supply. Santhal Paragana will get 250 Megawatt additional electricity supply.
JMM supremo and MP of Dumka Sibu Soren said the power needs of the poor villagers will be fulfilled by the grid.
