CM inaugurates canteen for Jamshedpur police, promises better facilities

Das meets family members of former MLA Dinanath Pandey

Jamshedpur, Jan. 14 : CM Raghubar Das inaugurated the state-of the art canteen for city police near Sakchi police station on Monday. The canteen will provide meals from morning till night at a subsidized rate for police personnel. There is also provision for sending ordered food to each police station depending on order. Das promised more facilities for the men in uniform.

East Singhbhum DC Amit Kumar and East Singhbhum SSP Anoop Birtharay were also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister, who arrived in city in the afternoon also visited residence of deceased former Jamshedpur East MLA Dinanath Pandey and consoled the relatives at Birsanagar. Das expressed his condolences with the family of late MLA of East Jamshedpur Assembly constituency. He said that a person is identified with his karma only. Pandey was one of those great men who served the public through politics.

The Chief Minister said that Pandey made an honest attempt to hear and remove the suffering pain of people of Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency. “ I myself carried forward the work that was done by late Dinanath Pandey.

Whenever I met him, he was very happy with the development of the East assembly constituency.

The Chief Minister said that his death is a huge loss for me personally and also for the party. But this is the rule of creation, so that we are all bound.
Three times former MLA from Jamshedpur East Dinanath Pandey passed away on Friday. He was 85 years old. Pandey was ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at Tata Man Hospital (TMH).

Dinanath Pandey first came to the Assembly in 1977 after contesting elections from the Janata Party ticket. After this, in the 1980 and 85 elections he reached the Assembly on BJP’s ticket. In 1990 assembly elections he faced defeat from Congress candidate.

On the same seat in 1995, BJP gave ticket to current Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Dinanath had contested as an Independent candidate. While in the 1996 Lok Sabha election, Pandey contested on the ticket from Shiv Sena. He remained active in social life till his end.

Das also visited Surya Mandir in Sidhgora before returning to Ranchi by state-owned chopper at around 3 pm.
