Ranchi, July 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today met Dr. Achyuta Samant, renowned educationist of the country and founder of KIIT Group of Institutions, at the Chief Minister’s residential office located at Kanke Road Ranchi.
On this occasion, there was a detailed discussion between the Chief Minister and Dr Samant on qualitative improvement in the level of education in the state, current political developments and other developmental issues.
On the occasion, Hemant Soren discussed with Dr. Achyuta Samant about the establishment of a branch of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in the state.
The Chief Minister told Dr. Samant that during his recent visit to Odisha, he had the opportunity to attend the function organized by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, and at the same time, there was a positive discussion on opening a branch of KISS in Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister told him that his government will give concrete shape to the establishment of this educational institution by making a better action plan for the establishment of a unit of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in the state in the year 2025.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister praised the work being done in the field of education by the KIIT Group of Institutions.
In April last year Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his admiration for the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) in Odisha and has announced his intention to establish a similar facility in Jharkhand to help the tribal students in his state.
Impressed by the gathering of around 40,000 tribal students at the KIIT and KISS institutes, Soren declared that his government “would not hesitate to provide support for a KISS-like institute in Jharkhand where students would be imparted skill and technical training.”
Soren had then said that the youth in naxal-affected areas could benefit greatly from such facilities and receive free access to education.
