Banna Gupta felicitates ‘Corrona Warriors ‘ on Independence day
Jamshedpur, Aug 16: The 75th Independence Day celebrations in the city witnessed the felicitation of frontline staff of various civic bodies and institutions for their contribution towards the fight during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
State Health Minister Banna Gupta, who unfurled the Tricolur at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on Sunday felicitation of corona warriors, and recognised officials. They were handed over a certificate of appreciation and a memento.
The Minister honored doctors, nurses, sweepers, police and administrative officials by giving citations and mementos for their excellent work during the second wave. On this occasion, he recognised Civil Surgeon Dr AK Lal, ACMO Dr Sahir Pal, Epidemiologist Dr. Asad, LRDC Ravindra Gagrai, Executive Magistrate cum Incident Commander Savita Topno and Chandradev Prasad, E-District Manager Manish Kumar and Police Officers and others. The soldiers were honored with a certificate of appreciation.
The Health Minister said that Covid-19 pandemic has posed several challenges for the state government. He appealed to people to continue following the Covid appropriate behaviour.
Gupta said that 15th August is a very important day for the democracy of India and for every Indian. “ I salute all the brave revolutionaries. In the fight for freedom, mothers sacrificed their lives, married women wiped away the vermilion of their demand, many great men hanged themselves to death, and heroes faced fired bullets on their chests.
Gupta said that the brave great men of Jharkhand have also laid down their lives in the freedom struggle. The heroes of Jharkhand also took the iron from the British and surrendered their all for the independence of the country. All the people have given martyrdom to the soil of this country.
He said that the present government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren is committed to show the direction of development to the state. “Certainly we have to work for the prosperity and progress of this state. The government is working in a transparent manner, we will not hide our shortcomings. Our daughters should feel safe to come out even at night we will create such a state where law will prevail. We wish that there should be progress, progress and prosperity in the society and the state. We are people who believe in democracy, people run on the basis of policy and morality and system is run firmly. By making good use of the powers enshrined in the constitution, we will strengthen democracy by upholding justice and policy.
The function which was also live streamed on the Facebook page of PRD East Singhbhum was also attended by East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar, senior superintendent of police M. Tamil Vanan and other senior district administrative officials.
The function was held with several restrictions. Public participation was not allowed due to the pandemic. The one hour function saw felicitation of freedom fighters and felicitation of corona warriors.
