CM hails railway budget 2015-16

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the railway budget 2015-16 is unique in itself and out-of-the-ordinary. The railway budget laid stress on improving the existing system rather than making popular announcements, he said.

The CM said that people would get a huge relief as railway fares had not been increased. It would help arrest the inflation. The railway budget is in sync with ‘Make in India’ campaign that laid stress on upgrading technical aspect of the system.

He said that current rail budget had taken into account passenger amenities and security to the commuters. The budget has rolled out unique features including advance reservation facility, mobile charge facility in general compartments, reservation through mobile aps, special measures to end long queues for reservation, and introduction of toll-free help-lines.

The budget has also taken good care for senior citizens. Alarms at un-manned railway crossings and technical application to avert accidents are welcome steps for passenger safety, he said.

Raghubar Das expressed happiness that cleanliness on railway premises would be ensured as Clean India Campign has been linked to railways. Vaccum Toilets and bio-toilets would further help in cleanliness drive, he said.
