Ranchi, Nov. 11: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today gave approval to the establishment of three private universities in the state. �Now our children won�t have to go out of the state for higher studies.
More universities will be opened in the time to come,� he said after giving the approval to the Letters of Intent for the establishment of Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, Y. B. N. University, Ranchi and Arka Jain University, Saraikela.
Das said that last year too, noted university of the country had started their session in Jharkhand. Sports University has been opened to promote sports and games and Raksha Shakti University with a view to prepare security forces.
Higher Education Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh said that these three universities will invest Rs 600 crore in the next three to four years. Around five to six thousand students are expected to get enrolled in the universities.
Graduation, post-graduation, technical and professional curriculum will be run in these universities.
Sarala Birla Project Director Pradip Kumar Verma, Ramji Yadav of Y. B. N. University and Amit Srivastava of Arka Jain University were present during the programme.
