Palo Alto/San Jose (USA): After registering Jharkhand’s presence at the MINEXPO 2016 (Mining Expo) in Las Vegas, Chief Minister Raghubar Das and his team today reached San Francisco where the delegation visited Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to explore global collaboration prospects and invite potential investors to the state.

Jharkhand government had recently signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with HPE in the areas of tele-education (virtual classrooms) and IT enabled primary healthcare.

At HPE World Wide Corporate headquarters, Palo Alto, the delegation led by the CM had an introductory session with HPE officials.

Post introduction, Amip Shah from HPE gave a presentation on Smart Cities and HPE strategy. After exploring HPE investment potential and its plans for Jharkhand, the delegation participated in CDC tour led by Mike Murray. Carl Chow attended the CM and his official delegation from Jharkhand during HP Labs Overview.

While participating in the question answer session at HPE headquarters Das said, “The primary purpose of this visit is to promote investments in the state and to tell investors that Jharkhand is ready to welcome an era of industrial growth and is all set to attract investors. Our offshore visit will enable us to lure investors who will become long term partners in development of mineral and manpower-rich Jharkhand.

The CM was quick to assure potential investors that his government is deeply ‘committed to protecting and securing the wellbeing of investments, public life and property.

He said, “Jharkhand is the backbone of the Make in India agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as it holds 40 per cent of India’s natural mineral wealth and is on track to become the country’s power hub by 2019.

Projected as one of India’s most progressive investor-friendly states with the world’s most robust IT-enabled registration and licensing processes— to help prospective investors start their business with a couple of clicks of the mouse — Jharkhand is pulling out all stops to stay ahead as one of India’s most alluring investor destinations, CM added.

After the HPE visit, team Jharkhand reached CISCO’s San Jose headquarters to explore further collaboration potential with the company. Recently Jharkhand government has signed an MoU with Cisco to impart networking training to students of engineering colleges, polytechnics and degree level institutions in Jharkhand.

Students will be trained through the Cisco Networking Academy Programme to increase the availability of skilled networking resources from within the state.

Jharkhand CM and his team are putting in efforts to ensure a sizeable attendance of investors at Jharkhand’s maiden global business meet ‘The Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors Summit’, scheduled to take place in state capital Ranchi, on 16-17 February 2017.

The forthcoming event is being seen as a global networking platform being created by the state government in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Leaders of several countries and prominent global business leaders will grace the Summit. This is a first of its kind Summit planned in Jharkhand which will witness participation from business heads, academicians and thought leaders from around the globe.
