Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that special focus should be laid on initiating children to science and technology.
He said the children should be provided free education as far as possible. He was speaking during a meeting of the Science and Technology Council held at Science Centre in the state Capital.
In his address, he said that children should be encouraged and motivated so that they go on to become great scientists some day.
He said the institution helped researchers get their new ideas and inventions patented. He said the help of experts should be taken in the upkeep of the science centre and the library.
He said the construction of the Deoghar centre was almost complete. He said the appointments should be made on contract basis.
He further expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in construction work in five other centres comprising Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Dumka, Bokaro and Daltonganj. Many officials of the state government were present during the meeting.
