Jamshedpur, October 12: Chief Minister Raghubar Das along with his family performed kanya puja on the occasion of Maha Navami at Shitla Mandir in Bhalubasa on Monday.
CM Das along with his wife and son worshipped girls below the age of 12 years, offered each of them a chunri, a token amount of Rs 251 and bhog.
Talking to the media persons after kanya puja, CM said, girls and women play an important role in the development of a state. ‘Our government is focused towards creating an environment which would ensure education to every child’, added Das.
The CM also said the idea of progress is inconceivable without taking along women. He noted how women were performing well in every field.
After the kanya puja, chief minister visited several Durga Puja pandals in the city including Tuila Dungri, Mill Area Sakchi, Hind Club New Ranikudar, Ram mandir Sonari, Golmuri Puja pandal, Jairam Youth Sporting Club and S Type Adityapur etc and worshiped Goddess Durga. CM prayed for peace and prosperity of Jharkhand.
