CM asks GRDA to prepare development plans for all cities

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren today held a meeting with the Board of Directors of Greater Ranchi Development Authority (GRDA) at Project Building.

He said the GRDA should not only prepare plans for the development of Ranchi, but should also prepare the development plan for other important cities of the state including Jamshedpur.

Soren, who was in the city today with his father and former CM Sibu Soren to pay tributes to late Nirmal Mahato at Chemmury Guesthouse, said the state government was making efforts to ensure smooth arrival of trucks carrying potatoes from West Bengal into Jharkhand.

He said he was in favour of resolving the issue by talking with the West Bengal government. He said the state administration was keeping an eye on the developments in West Bengal to make sure that potato supplies in the state were adequate and that it did not lead to price hike.

Asked about the potato crisis in the state, the CM said he had written a letter to the West Bengal government when a similar crisis had arisen in June this year. He said he would again take necessary steps to make sure that the state did not face the crisis for too long.

The CM said the JMM would be contesting the Assembly elections with its current alliance partners. He said there was no crack in the ruling alliance. He further said that the role of late Nirmal Mahato and his family in the movement for a separate Jharkhand state was unforgettable.

The duo also visited the monument of late Nirmal Mahato at Kadma where they paid floral tributes to the former leader and founder of JMM.
