Ranchi, June 23: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday gave his consent for the establishment of Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology(CIPET) in Ranchi.

The Government of India plans to establish 11 CIPET centers across the nation. It aims to develop skills of the youths and generate employment. Scientific and Industrial Investigation Department has approved CIPET in the field of plastic engineering.

It will be built this financial year on the 15 acre land at Knowledge City in Khunti.

It will have building, class rooms, library, computer lab, practical hall, hostel, canteen, workshop and processing lab.

1500 youths will be given jobs every year through CIPET in plastic processing technology, plastic recycling, basic machining, plastic produce and molding design, molding manufacturing, computer hardware and networking, electrical maintenance, upgraded machine maintenance and industrial automation PLC, hydraulics and numetics, wielding and construction technology and specially through design curriculum, these youths will be employed.

A total of 270 students will be trained in long term courses. Post-graduate diploma (PGT and PPT) will be given in plastic processing and testing, diploma in plastic casting (DPMT), and diploma in plastic technology (DPT) curriculum will be included in the curriculum. Due to long-term training, 800 students will be kept on CIPET roll till third year so that maximum students can get employment and start their own enterprise.

Apart from this, the following skill development will be carried out:
