Ranchi (IANS): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren distributed appointment letters to 1,042 intermediate and graduate-trained assistant teachers on Monday. The newly inducted teachers will join government schools across the state to boost the public education system.
During the distribution ceremony at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, Chief Minister Soren urged the educators to actively rebuild public trust in government-run schools.
“I would like to urge all teachers to become the eyes and ears of the government and, especially in remote areas, spread the message of education, awareness, and social harmony,” Soren shared later in a post on X.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state has entrusted these appointees with the critical responsibility of shaping future generations and building a progressive society.
Break Down of Teacher Allocations
The School Education and Literacy Department divided the 1,042 appointments across primary and upper-primary segments:
- Classes I to V (Primary): 274 assistant teachers.
- Classes VI to VIII (Upper-Primary): 768 graduate-trained assistant teachers.
- Social Sciences: 387 teachers
- Mathematics & Science: 231 teachers
- Languages: 150 teachers
Palamu and Giridih Receive Highest Allocations
Administrators distributed the new teachers across all 24 districts based on local institutional vacancies. Palamu received the largest contingent, while Ramgarh received the fewest.

Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore and senior administrative officials from the education department also attended the event to welcome the new batch of educators.
