Clash of the bands rock ‘Wheels’ on day 2

, Jan 24: The second day of Wheels 2014 saw various events on Friday including Mahendi, clay, robotics, dance and various other competitions.

The 27th edition of the mega inter-school fest, organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) club, saw participation of hundreds of students from various city schools.

The competition had kicked off with a marathon on January 19 that was flagged off by A.B. Lall, plant head of Jamshedpur unit of Tata Motors.

The second day of the event began with Mehendibridal mehendi competition were around 70 students from schools and women’s college participated.

Step up-group dance competition saw 14 teams from Jamshedpur schools participating alongside so you think you can dancesolo dance competition was also held.

Robotics workshop was conducted by virscent technologies from IIT Kharagpur with participation of 40 students selected through tests conducted and all students were given free robotics kit.

Clay art-clay modelling competition was also held with Nukkad-Street plays with theme celebrating indianness.

Later in the day winners of 13 events were awarded prizes by GM Manufacturing Mohan Kumar and GM HR Sanjay Verma.

At evening unfolded with the event “clash of the bands” with around 10 bands competing for the top spot.

The third day of wheels will have a closing ceremony performance by Shilpa Rao and a formal ceremony to be attended by chief guests Chandraban Prasad the TWU Gen.
