CKP railway division to convert five coaches into isolation centres

Jamshedpur, April 7: As number of coronavirus positive cases continues to rise across the country and also in the state, the Chakradharpur railway division has come into action for extending a helping hand to the government in the fight against the deadly virus.

Following a directive from the South Eastern Railway , the Chakradharpur railway division has started converting coaches into isolation centre for facilitating treatment of the coronavirus positive patients.

Revealing about the initiative, an official of Chakradharpur said that they are converting five coaches into isoation centres in response to a directive reached to them from the SER.

The senior official said that they are presently converting five coaches into isolation centres at Bandamund where a coach modification yard is situated.

As per the plans each of the coaches, eight bed isolation rooms are being modified, thus the total number of isolation centres that the railway is making will be 40.  There will be an additional room in each of the coaches and such rooms are being developed for the use by doctors, nurses and medical staff during the treatment of the patients.
