District Road Safety Committee meeting held
Jamshedpur, July 3: Member of the National Road Safety Council, Ravindra Tiwari has said that that all the three civic bodies of Jamshedpur city should ensure that there is no vehicle parked on the roads. Also, regarding vehicle checking, he said that traffic policemen or officials should ensure that no vehicle rider drives without a helmet or seat belt. Regarding road safety, he gave instructions for rounabout near near Women’s College Bistupur.
Prior to this, a meeting of District Road Safety Committee, Jamshedpur was organised under the joint chairmanship of MP-cum-District Road Safety Committee Chairman Bidhyut Baran Mahto and Ravindra Tiwari, Member- National Road Safety Council (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways). In the meeting, the latest situation related to road safety and construction work in the district was reviewed and necessary guidelines were given. Entering the subject, District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan told that at present, 19 black spots have been identified in Jamshedpur, due to which the problems related to them are to be executed. In this regard, representatives of Jusco said that out of 17 black spots identified earlier, work has been done as per the requirement, work is going on the remaining four. It was discussed in the meeting at which black spot what is the problem and what is to be resolved. DSP Traffic Shivendra Thakur, City Manager of MNAC, and other members of the Road Safety Committee were present in the meeting.
