Jamshedpur : City police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder case of Mango-based businessman Bhagwan Das Gupta.
The mutilated body of the victim was recovered from a jungle in Ichak Police Station in Hazaribagh. Bhagwan Das was absconding since December 29 last.
Now it has been revealed that he had been kidnapped and murdered by the accused.
The police have arrested Imran Ansari alias Rup Haris, Raju alias Farhan alias Samsuddin, Bablu alias Md. Unus, and Tanushree alias Firoza Parveen and Md. Safiq in this connection. One accused Munna Khan, a resident of Siwan is still at large.
With the arrest the police have also recovered Inova car, nine mobile phones, one ATM card, one PAN card, 26 gm gold and one Muga stone. The gold and the Muga stone belonged to the victim.
According to reports the Hazaribagh Police had recovered the dead body of Bhagwan Das on January 15 in a badly mutilated state.
The body was taken to RIMS for autopsy. The police today brought back the arrested accused in the city. All the accused are the residents of Mango Azad Basti.
The police is investing on various angles that led to the kidnap and murder of the businessman.
