Jamshedpur, Jan. 27: State civil and food supplies minister Saryu Roy has said that the State Government must design such policies that it benefits all sections of the society. At the main function hosted by East Singhbhum administration at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur, Roy without naming tenancy law amendments of his own government, observed that policies should be made to benefit all sections of society.
City celebrated 68th Republic Day with patriotic fervour and commitment of development. Saryu Roy unfurled the Tricolour.� I must say that if a particular section is not happy with certain policies, the government should roll back its decision. Policies should be made by taking into confidence every section of society,� Roy said.
He also appreciated the Centre�s demonetisation decision, which he said �will help reduce economic disparity between the rich and poor.Though it affected the economic growth and also led to unemployment in some sectors, things will improve in the long run,� Roy said.
In his address, Roy said that the Government is dedicated in the progress of the society. All the welfare schemes funded by Central and State are being passed on to the needy.
�We are celebrating the Republic Day which in itself means a lot but at the same time, the challenges to sustain as a free democracy has increased with external forces and their conspiracies. It is in this time that time that we ought to remain united and fight everything together,” said Roy.
Republic Day parade were presented by Rapid Action Force (RAF), Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), home guards and NCC cadets. Organisations and corporates also presented their respective floats. Red Cross Society, Civil Defence, education department, agriculture department, Tata Steel, Tata Motors displayed their floats based on various themes.
RAF was felicitated for the best parade while the civil defence was given a prize for the best demonstration on floats. Roy also felicitated freedom fighters and their widows by presenting them shawls.
City-based school colleges and educational institutions also organised events to pay homage to the leaders and the nation. Various contests were also held to mark the day. Flag hoisting ceremonies were organised in most of the public and private institutions.
