53rd Raising Day of CISF celebrated with grandeur in Jadugora

Jadugora, March 5: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) celebrated its 53rd Raising Day at CISF football ground in Jadugora on Saturday. The chief guest of the occasion was the Director (Technical) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), Rajesh Kumar. He inspected a parade of CISF contingents and was given a guard of honour.

In his inaugural address, Kumar congratulated the CISF family on completing its 53 years of exemplary and commendable service to the nation. He said the CISF jawans had proved themselves time and again and that they were an asset for the nation. He said the nation was proud of the CISF.

Also present on the occasion was the Senior Commandant of CISF, Hari Om Gandhi. He said the CISF not only protects industrial establishments and the people but also carried out its social responsibilities in its surroundings. He said there are a total of 1.7 lakh jawans are shouldering the responsibility of keeping 353 institutions safe across the country. He said the CISF had started rendering its services at the UCIL on 17th May 1972. The Golden Jubilee Year is being celebrated this year, he said.

Gandhi said the CISF teams had distributed masks and medicines among 50,000 people during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. The CISF teams also contributed in Swachh Bharat and de-addiction campaigns besides associating themselves with mental health and art of living initiatives, he said.

The CISF Senior Commandant said the CISF had planted over 24,000 saplings of fruit-bearing trees in the entire district including Jadugora.

After the inaugural session, various entertaining and motivating events such as dog show, commando exhibition, fire exhibition and hapkido (a hybrid Korean martial art) were organized for the people. Earlier, a new fire control vehicle worth Rs 55 lakh was handed over by the UCIL Director (Technical) to the CISF.

Other dignitaries present during the Raising Day celebrations included UCIL GM SK Sharma, CMO Manoj Kumar, Mosabani BDO Seema Kumari, CISF Assistant Commandant BN Tiwary, Deputy Commandant R Lakra, Fire Inspector SU Nayar and Inspector N Mohanan.
