Gandhi Nagar (Ahmedabad): Cinematic Tourism or Film Tourism can be used as an effective tool in promoting tourism and has potential to attract visitors to destinations and concomitantly boosting economy, said Om Prakash Kohli, Hon�ble Governor of Gujarat.
He was addressing the session of a Filmmaking Seminar christened as �Cinematic Tourism in Gujarat-The Way Forward� on Monday at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar (Gujarat) under the aegis of �8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017�.
Elaborating the benefits flowing from cinematic tourism ,Mr. Kohli said �Cine Tourism boosts the economy by generating employment opportunities.
As a representative of Government of Jharkhand Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, Director, Information & Public Relations Department GOJ briefed the gathering of renowned film producers & other dignitaries about Jharkhand Film Policy 2015.
He said- Jharkhand Film Policy provides attractive package of facilities including financial support to all the filmmakers.
Moreover, special and additional facilities and support to those promoting regional languages and local artists.
Those film consciously and actively promoting tourism and culture will be given special grant, he added.
He said- The provisions relating to grants will also benefit the Gujarati film makers willing to shoot films in Jharkhand in Gujarati or other language. The state has a considerable number of Gujarati speaking people, Mr.Pandey added.
He said �promoting tourism through films is one of the objectives of Jharkhand Film Policy.
He added – Jharkhand is endowed with natural and scenic beauty which is manifested in its innumerable waterfalls, rapids, hills forests, water bodies, etc providing an irresistible attraction for the tourists and filmmakers. Jharkhand accounts for almost 40 percent of country�s mineral resources. The promotion of mining tourism is one of the novel features of the recently announced Tourism Policy of Jharkhand, said Mr. Pandey.
Mr. Pandey had special one to one interaction with Gangs of Wasseypur producer / director Mr.Tigmanshu Dhulia.
He conveyed Mr. Dhulia about the facility of single window system for shooting permissions and proposal approvals in Jharkhand. Mr.Pandey gave copies of Jharkhand Film policy 2015 to the film personalities during personal interaction.
