Jamshedpur : With an objective to promote competitiveness and productivity for Jharkhand based SME by using latest Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a �Seminar on Empowering SME through ICT Intervention�.
N N Sinha, principal secretary, Department of Information Technology, Jharkhand highlighted the various initiatives taken by the state government to support industries in the state through ICT intervention such as E-payments in Transport Department & other departments.
He also shared that use of ICT will help MSMEs in compliance management, finance management and will also save time. He said that the Government will work to enhance ICT in all the deparments.
While addressing the gathering, S K Behera, chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council �MSMEs Contribute 9 per cent to the GDP of the country and 45 per cent of the total manufacturing output arises from the MSME .
It is imperative for us enhance our levels of competitiveness and also give due importance to technology and innovation.
Prabhakar Singh, president, Jamshedpur Hoteliers Association shared his views on how ICT is important to the hospitality industry and the use of the IT technologies in the day to day activities in other businesses.
Prakash Sarode, Member, CII Jharkhand State Council & MD , Tata Pigments also shared his views that how use of ICT can help SMEs in cost reduction, finance management etc.
A K Srivastava , Member, CII Jharkhand State Council & Partner, A K Industries gave the concluding remarks.
The objective of this seminar was to spread awareness on the use of latest ICT tools to enhance competitiveness and productivity of business, especially for the Jharkhand based SMEs and industries.
As SMEs are the major contributor of country�s economy and Jharkhand is a hub for SMEs from various industrial segments, the session was designed to update industry on latest global IT trends, which can help businesses to improve their competitiveness and increase their productivity.
