Govt and CII to set up Joint Task Force says Industries director

: Himani Pande, director, Department of Industries, Jharkhand, today said that to support industries in the state Confederation of Indian Industries and Government of Jharkhand Joint Task Force for the promotion of industries, which would come into existence in coming few weeks.

She was addressing Manufacturing Excellence 2013 – The Next Wave a one-day conference organised by CII Jharkhand.

S.K Behera, chairman, CII Jharkhand opened the session by emphasizing the impact of manufacturing sector and its impact on the economy. He mentioned the contribution of the manufacturing sector in Indian�s GDP has been significant.

He also stressed on the fact that quality conscious organisations have grown multiple times in recent past as quality holds the secret in manufacturing. He also spoke on the different quality standards, which are followed in the manufacturing concerns.

Sudhir Deoras, Chairman Eastern Region & MD TRF Ltd, addressed the conference mentioning how India Being a young country will emerge as one of the foremost forces in manufacturing in the next decade.

Having an inclination towards manufacturing will certainly help the younger generation of India to build a strong base.

He also emphasized on the fact that strong and efficient manufacturing sector will ensure gradual and strong growth trajectory for India.

Vijay Sharma, joint managing director, Usha Martin Ltd mentioned the importance & role of cultural mindset and discipline in manufacturing. He explained the quality and the discipline aspect of a manufacturing concern through a case study.

The conference was divided into two technical sessions, first session, �World Class Manufacturing� which was chaired by A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors Ltd.

The other speaker for the session were Kushal Saha, Director (Production), HEC Ltd, M Sankara Narayanan, President- Auto Business, RSB Transmission (I) Ltd. Rajeev Kumar Saraswat, Div Mgr, Timken India Ltd, Sanjay Sinha, GM, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.

Prof Rambabu Kodali, Director NIT, Jamshedpur chaired the second Session �Key Factors for Manufacturing Growth.� The other speakers for the session were G Krishnaswami, VP (TQM), RSB Transmission (I) Ltd. K. Satyanarayana, Senior Manager, Corporate Safety, Tata Steel Ltd. & Avijit Roy, GM, Tata Technologies.
