Life is love and love is God: Fr Jerry at Xmas get-together

Jamshedpur, Dec 22: A Christmas get-together was organized at Loyola School in Telco on Thursday, December 22. The programme was replete with messages, carol songs, a play on the life and times of Jesus Christ and other talks and presentations to provide pep to the religious, celebratory spirit of joy.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus Christ by millions world over annually on December 25 in the form of a religious and cultural event.

Among those present at the Christmas get-together were chief guest Pravin Hembram, Principal Charanjit Ohson, School Administrator Rev Fr Jerry, SJ, Advisor Rev Fr Gautam SJ and Convener Zeenath Maria Sundi.

Neil Singh welcomed the guests, Katheline recited verses from The Bible while Karoline led the prayers.

A play on the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger in Bethlehem left the audience in a trance and was further highlighted by the narrators who delivered their dialogues as the situational mood demanded.

The special message at the get-together was themed on, “Jesus came into the world to deliver mankind from evil. Lord God sent His son, Jesus into the world to relieve mankind of sins as Christ took the sins on Himself and carried them to the crucifix.

Carol songs presented on the occasion added to the joyous spirit prevailing in the congregation. ‘The dance of angels’ by the school students grabbed eyeballs and the audience were mesmerized.  The entry of Santa Claus drew cheers of joy and happiness as he distributed joy, peace and happiness along with other gifts from his bag of surprises to set the pace for Xmas and New Year celebrations.

On conclusion of the cultural events, Fr Jerry, SJ and Principal Charanjit Ohson gave their Christmas messages for peace, joy and fraternal feelings in abundance. Fr Jerry observed, “Life is Love and love is God. Love advocates peace.’ The vote of thanks was offered by Wilson. Staff and faculty members played a big role in the success of the Christmas get-togrther. The faculty members included Zeenat Maria Sundi, Anna, Sophia, Ranjita Minj, Kanchan, Dipti, Sushila, Mariam, Shila, Shalini, Mona, Priti and Saurabh.
