Chitransh community worship Lord Chitragupt

Seraikela, Nov 6 : The members of  Chitransh community, on Saturday, worshipped Lord Chitragupt and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity. On this occasion, under the aegis of Chitragupt Puja Committee of Hunsahuri and Bajrang Puja Committee of Pattanaik Tola in Seraikela, Lord Chitragupt was worshiped in attractive pandals decorated with colored lights.

 In Hunsahuri and Pattanaik Tola, devotees worshiped their presiding deity with reverence and devotion. A large number of Kayasth community members participated in Chitragupt Puja organized by Bajrang Puja Committee at Pattanaik Tola.

 The members of Chitragupt community stated that Chitragupt Maharaj was worshiped for happiness, prosperity and welfare of the community. On this occasion, prasad in the form of Kheer and Khichdi was distributed. In Seraikela, the festival of Chitragupt Puja will continue till Pratima Visarjan or immersion of the idol of the deity. On Saturday, the members of Kayasth community worshiped Kalam Dwat (inkpot and ink) in their respective homes according to tradition. On the day of Chitragupt Puja, the Kayasth community does not perform any writing work. Chitragupt Puja Utsav is being organized in Hansahudi locality since 1981. The organizing committee included Sanjeev Das, Neeraj Pattanaik, Shubham Mahanty, Jairaj Das, Tapas, Rajat, Rintu, Puneet, Shambhu, Rinku, Titu, Vishal and Raja.

Prayers performed in homes

The Kayasth community worshiped Lord Chitragupt according to rituals in their homes also. On Monday morning, people started preparing for Chitragupt Puja. The details of income and expenditure for the year were placed before lord Chitragupt. Various types of delicacies including sweets and fruits were offered to Lord Chitragupt.
