Ranchi, May 18: Chief Minister Raghbar Das on Wednesday said that Jharkhand is willing to cooperate with the Shanxi province of the Chinese Republic in the sectors of energy, water recourses and mining.
Das said this to the delegates from Shanxi province headed by their vice-governor, who paid visit at the Project Building.
He said 32 percent of national coal reserve is lying in the state of Jharkhand, like in the case of Shanxi Province in China. The state government has eased many laws to promote investment in Jharkhand, the CM said.
He further said apart from mining there are multiple scopes in the field of tourism, food processing, automobiles and cements in Jharkhand. The state government is giving special emphasis on solar energy.
The CM requested the delegates to cooperate in the infrastructure of smart city. Das also invited them to participate in Global Investor Summit which is scheduled in Nov. this year in Ranchi. Guo Yagwang, vice-governor of Shanxi Province has also invited the Chief Minister to visit the Energy-Expo Scheduled in the month of September in Shanxi Province.
Yagwang told the CM that in Shanxi Province coal mining is done with the latest technology, this is the reason rate of accidents are low. He said rain-fall in the Shanxi Province is almost half compared to rain-fall in Jharkhand, but there are 750 water reservoirs are in Shanxi Province. Water supply is done in the entire the province through these 750 reservoirs. Chinese delegation shows interest to work with the Jharkhand government.
In the meeting Li Suoyong from Chinese consulate general at Kolkata, Rajbala Verma, chief secretary, Amit Khare, additional chief secretary (Finance), U. P. Singh, additional chief secretary (Industry), Sukhdeo Singh, principal secretary, Water Resource Department, and Sunil Burnwal, secretary to CM, were also present.
