Chilly mornings and evenings mark onset of winter in Jamshedpur

Surge in cold cases, winter markets in full swing

Jamshedpur, Nov22: In Jamshedpur and across Jharkhand, a significant cold is being felt in the mornings and evenings. As the day dawns, the weather returns to normal. During this time, morning fog or haze is observed in various areas. Excessive cold is being experienced due to chilly winds and drop in temperatures.

According to the weather department, “The La Nina effect will be clearly noticeable by the end of November and the beginning of December this year. There is a continuous decline in minimum temperatures, and the easterly winds are intensifying the cold, especially during the mornings and evenings.”

It has been reported that the weather in the state remained dry over the past 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature recorded was 30.4 degrees Celsius in Chaibasa, while the lowest minimum temperature was 11.5 degrees Celsius in Garhwa. According to the weather department, “Light cold winds are expected to blow from the northwestern direction in various parts of the state.”

The weather department has not indicated any significant changes at the moment. However, there could be an increase in cold in the morning and night. People have been advised to wear warm clothes in the morning as well as in the evening. Currently, there is a mild cold atmosphere in Jharkhand. This weather may be favorable for farmers and people in general. In the upcoming days, there is no expectation of any major weather changes. According to the weather department’s bulletin, “Jamshedpur’s maximum temperature was 28.8 degrees while the minimum temperature was 15.8 degrees Celsius.”

Changes in the weather are affecting the health of people. The cold in the mornings and evenings, combined with the warmth of the sun during the day, has led to an increase in cases of cold and flu. Hospitals across the city, including MGM, are seeing a surge in patients suffering from coughs and colds.

Almost all districts have set up markets for winter clothing. With the arrival of winter in Jamshedpur, warm clothes have been brought in from Mathura and Vrindavan for the deities. Devotees are purchasing these warm garments to protect their Laddu Gopal from the cold.

The prices of clothing range from 30 rupees to 1500 rupees, depending on the deity’s statue. People have started purchasing woolen outfits for their Laddu Gopal. Also, quilts and mattresses are doing brisk business.
