Jamshedpur: In a notable weather development, the combination of clear skies and dry, crisp north-westerly winds has heightened the chill across Kolhan. In Jamshedpur, the minimum temperature recorded was 9 degrees Celsius, which is three notches below the seasonal average.
Weather experts have indicated that moderate cold-wave conditions are currently prevailing in Bokaro and its adjoining areas. Chaibasa, situated in the West Singhbhum district, is also under the grip of cold wave conditions, recording a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is four notches below the normal range. Daltonganj, the headquarters of Palamu, reported a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius, registering three notches below the normal temperature. Similarly, Bokaro Steel City experienced a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius, a noteworthy six notches below the seasonal average
Recent statistics provided by the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Centre reveal a resurgence of Sub-10 chill, with most places recording temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours. The capital city, Ranchi, witnessed a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, marking a deviation of 2.8 notches below the normal temperature.
A consistent downward trend in minimum temperatures was observed across most locations. However, meteorologists predict a likely rise in minimum temperatures after the next 48 hours, providing a temporary relief from the intensified chill.
The Ranchi Met Centre has further forecasted light rains over isolated areas in southern Jharkhand tomorrow, adding an additional layer of weather dynamics to the current scenario. As Jharkhand continues to experience this winter chill, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and healthy during these colder temperatures.
