Jamshedpur: A three day workshop titled �Training for Child: Effective Implementation of The Guidelines for Sponsorship and Foster Care� was organized at the Lok Adalat hall at Jamshedpur Civil Court on Tuesday. It was held under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) following the directive of Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JLSA).
The chief guest of the occasion was Manoj Prasad, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jamshedpur. In his inaugural address, he said every child is a true reflection of the Almighty and hence their proper care is a must. He said there is an urgent need to spread mass awareness on the rights of children and the need for their proper upbringing through foster care.
Other dignitaries included East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar, Family Judge Satya Prakash Sinha, DLSA Secretary SN Sikdar, Senior Superintendent of Police Anoop Birtharay and District Bard Association Secretary Anil Tiwary.
The DC and other dignitaries too, spoke on the importance of childcare and the rights of children. They said such workshops are essential to attain the goal of ensuring children�s welfare.
On the inaugural day of the workshop, the participants were informed about the rights of children, duty of parents, Legal Services Authority Act, NLSA Child Friendly Legal Services Scheme 2015, Jharkhand Guideline for Sponsorship 2018 and other laws. The training will continue for three days.
