Jamshedpur: A group of children met the deputy commissioner (DC) of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar on Friday and tied friendship bands on his wrist.
The children interacted with the DC on various issues related to children. The children accompanied by local NGOs distributed pamphlets on Child Line’s ‘Dial 1098’ facility.
Under the national phone service of Child Line, anyone can call on the number 1098 to give information to the government about any sick child, a child being exploited, homeless children, a helpless child who needs emotional support or guidance or any person who wants to render their services to Child Line.
In East Singhbhum, TRCSC is the support organization for Child Line while Adarsh Seva Sansthan is the collaborative organization for the helpline facility, sources said.
The facility has been provided by the Women and Child Development Ministry of the Government of India.
