Child washed away in drain at Golmuri

Jamshedpur: A child was washed away in the rainwater flowing through a drain in Golmuri on Monday. The incident occurred when it was raining heavily.

Soon after learning of the incident, a team of JNAC officials led by City Manager Shakil Mehandi reached the mishap scene and inquired about the incident. A report was sent to the JNAC Special Officer Sanjay Kumar.

Sources said most part of the drain was found covered. About 1.5 feet long part of the drain was not covered. Due to heavy flow of rainwater, the child was carried away, sources said.
