Chief Justice of Jharkhand in Jamshedpur on three-day visit

Jamshedpur, Feb 13 : The Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Justice Mahesh Sharadchandra Sonak, arrived in Jamshedpur on Friday for a three-day visit, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sangeeta Sonak.
During their stay, the Chief Justice and his spouse are scheduled to visit several scenic locations, including the picturesque Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary and Dimna Lake, along with other prominent attractions in and around the city.
On arrival, Justice Sonak was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the local circuit house.
He later proceeded to the Jamshedpur Civil Court, where he conducted a comprehensive inspection of the court premises.
The Chief Justice reviewed individual courtrooms, the record room, conference hall, library, and other facilities within the complex.
He was accompanied by High Court Registrar General Satyaprakash Sinha during the inspection.
Following the visit, Justice Sonak held a brief introductory meeting with judicial officers in the chamber of the Principal District and Sessions Judge. Marking the occasion, the Chief Justice and his wife also planted saplings within the court premises, symbolizing environmental commitment and judicial stewardship. Principal District and Sessions Judge Arvind Kumar Pandey, DLSA Secretary Kumar Saurabh Tripathi, and other judicial officers were present during the programme.
Justice Sonak and his wife were welcomed at the Civil Court with traditional rituals, accompanied by the beating of drums and ceremonial honours.
The couple also offered prayers at the temple located within the court premises, where priests conducted rituals and felicitated them with garlands.
A delegation from the District Bar Association, led by State Bar Council Vice Chairman Rajesh Kumar Shukla, called on the Chief Justice and extended a formal welcome. Before departing the Civil Court premises, Justice Sonak and his wife posed for a group photograph with judicial officers and court staff.
