Chief justice of Jharkhand High Court accorded grand welcome in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, Mahesh Sharadchandra Sonak, received a warm and ceremonial welcome upon his arrival in Jamshedpur on Friday. The District Administration extended a formal reception, marking the occasion with dignity and traditional fervour.

Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi welcomed the Chief Justice with a floral bouquet and a book as a token of respect. A Guard of Honour was also presented to the Chief Justice who is on a personal visit to the Steel City. He is scheduled to conduct court inspections in the adjoining West Singhbhum district on Saturday.

Adding a cultural touch to the reception, local folk artists welcomed the Chief Justice with traditional performances. The Chief Justice showed keen interest in the vibrant folk heritage of Jharkhand and interacted warmly with the artists. In an engaging gesture, he also played traditional musical instruments such as the Nagada and Mandar, encouraging the performers and appreciating their art.

The occasion was attended by several senior officials, including District and Sessions Judge Arvind Kumar Pandey, Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Shivashish, and Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rishabh Garg, among others.

  • Inspection Details: He is scheduled to inspect the Civil Courts in Saraikela and Chaibasa. Registrar General Satyaprakash Singh will accompany him.
  • Itinerary for Friday: His schedule includes visits to the Coin MuseumRussi Modi Centre for Excellence, and the Tata Motors Plant. He will depart for Ghatshila in the evening for an overnight stay.
  • Weekend Schedule: * Saturday: He will return to Jamshedpur at 9:00 AM and head to Saraikela at 10:00 AM for court inspections. By 11:30 AM, he will leave for Chaibasa for further inspections. Later, he will travel to Noamundi and reach Kiriburu by 4:00 PM to stay at the SAIL Guest House.
    • Sunday: He will visit Chakradharpur at 9:00 AM before returning to Ranchi via Khunti at 12:30 PM.
  • Administrative Orders: Protocol Registrar Neelendu Sharan has directed the DC, SSP, and SP of the three districts to ensure all arrangements are made according to protocol.
