Chief Electoral Officer Jharkhand issues directive for voter’s awareness 

Jamshedpur, February 17: Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar gave  necessary guidelines through video conferencing with the District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of all the districts. 
The Chief Electoral Officer directed to ensure the participation of maximum number of participants from all the districts regarding the first national voter awareness competition started by the Election Commission of India on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, 2022. 
He told that with the aim of explaining the importance of each vote through various creative mediums, its theme – Mera Mat Mera Bhavishya Hai – Power of One Vote (“My Vote is My Future – Power of One Vote”) has been set. This competition is open to people of all age groups. This contest is in five categories (Quiz Contest, Slogan Contest, Song Contest, Video Making Contest, Poster Design Contest) in which entries are accepted till 15th March 2022. He said that maximum number of participants from each district should participate in the competition and make the state and their district proud by getting cash prizes.
Necessary guidelines were given by the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand regarding photo similar entry in the voter list and color photo in place of black and white photo in the identity card. Instructions were given to rectify the error of photo similar entry by the end of February. In the state, more than 40 lakh voters’ identity cards have black and white photographs, which have been instructed to replace them with color photographs. On this occasion, District Election Officer and DC East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar appealed to all the voters of the district that those who have black and white photo in their voter ID card, they should contact the concerned BLO and provide color photo or photo from their mobile through Garuda app. can be uploaded. He told that if the name of the same person is mentioned in more than one booth number, then Form 7 will be filled for deletion of name from all the places except where the voter actually wants to live. 
If there are actually two voters of the same name and the photos of both are identical, then in such a situation the discrepancies have to be resolved by filling Form 8 and getting the photo from the applicant and uploading the photo from the app. Regarding the creation of a healthy voter list, the Chief Electoral Officer directed for review of all the left out young voters, the voters living in the apartments and the voters who have migrated, to add or paste their names in the voter list.
