Saraikela, Jan 5: A joint get-together was organized by Rajkiya Chhau Nritya Kala Kendra of Kharsawan and District Sports Association (DSA) at the picnic spot in Rampur which also was the occasion to give a warm farewell to the Saraikela Centre’s senior instructor Vijay Kumar Sahu.
Artistes of the two Chhau dance centres in Saraikela and Kharsawan presented captivating performances. In his address, Guru Tapan Kumar Pattanaik observed, “Art is integrated in man’s every moment of living. A life without art certainly keeps humans alive but it is bereft of mental, creative and character development. Vijay Sahu is definitely one of the best in the field of Chhau, both as an instructor and a performer and at th same time he is a brilliant organizer.”
Others present on the occasion included Md Dildar, Umesh Singhdev, Hemant Kumar sighdev, Pinaki Ranjan, Dilip Kumar Pradhan, Prakash Kumar, Sumant Mohanty, Saroj Kumar Nayak, Basant Gantayat, Kamal Krishna Sahu, Kamal Mahto, Sudip Kumar Ghorai, Nayan Nayak, Prabhakar Mandal, Kamal Mahto, Jiten Ghorai, Sanjay Sundi, Angel Keshri, Mochika Modak and Jyoti Modak.
