Noamundi: The three day long tribal Chhata festival concluded on Saturday in Jeteya under Noamundi block.
On this occasion, young boys and girls from 18 villages participated in the traditional tribal dance with fervour. The festival was inaugurated by Gopinath Gope.
The festival is being celebrated in Noamundi for the last 92 years. In the festival, young boys and girls choose their life partner and perform their marriage ceremony on the lines of Gundharva Vivah.
The festival is celebrated in Barapaseya, Dudhbila and Beterkiyathe villages of the block as well.
